Martial Manet
Commissioner
Martial Manet is Assistant Professor at Université Mohammed VI Polytechnique (UM6P) and Research Associate at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (IREDIES). He holds a PhD in law (Paris I), a master's degree in philosophy (École normale supérieure - PSL) and a bachelor's degree in political science (Paris I). He was Visiting Scholar at Columbia University's Institute of African Studies.
His research focuses on public international law, legal theory and legal philosophy, with a particular interest in the protection of human rights. He is the author of various articles and contributions, as well as two books on the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights: Le devenir juridique de la dignité published (2019 by Éditions, L'Harmattan) and Les figurations du peuple published (2024, Pedone)
Alongside his academic activities, Martial Manet has worked for the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
