Senai W. Andemariam

Senai W. Andemariam is a former judge and currently the head of the Department of Law of the College of Business and Social Sciences in Eritrea. He teaches, among others, international trade law, international business transactions, public finance law, evidence and advanced legal writing. He earned his LL.B. from the University of Asmara, his LL.M. from the Georgetown University Law Center as a Fulbright Scholar and his PhD from the Faculty of Law at Maastricht University. He has published a number of articles with journals published at Cambridge University Press, Oxford University Press, Taylor and Francis, Routledge, Springer, Brill, Edward Elgar, DeGruyter, , Aethiopica, and others. His recent book, The Concept of Necessity in International Law and the World Trade Organization: History, Lessons, and Prospects, has been published in May 2024 with Brill. He is also member of the editorial team of the Journal of Eritrean Studies.
